UNDERSTANDING the importance of R.E.L.A.X.I.N.G
So many of us find it really difficult to STOP and really take time out . We are either overcommitted at work , feel guilty for not spending that time with others or actually scared to relax and stop in fear that we may just fall apart ….even get emotional. Most commonly amongst my clients, adrenal exhaustion is definitely high up on the list ….people burning the candle at both ends or alternatively many people spend extensive amounts of time emotionally exhausted from present or past experiences. In these situations , the cortisol hormones( stress related hormones that are produced by the adrenal glands which help us to fight or flight ) are elevated for long period of times leaving us feeling exhausted, moody, cloudy head, hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues and the list goes on. Aside from the physical benefits of relaxing such as feeling calmer, happier , the body functions much more effectively , body is able to repair itself and of course more energy ….RELAXING helps you to be more productive, creative, spiritual and emotionally balanced. Some of the greatest artists, painters, inventors, spiritual teachers are known to spend a lot of time relaxing and BEING …..this is when you get to connect to YOU and to all that’s greater than you. With Christmas coming up , with a few public holidays ahead ….why not really take some time out to STOP all the busyness either meditating , going to the beach , a nature walk , yoga or just sitting at home with no distractions and just alow the nervous system to have a break from all the DOING……at first it may be hard but start small and keep building .
